Russia says US warhorse was killed in Bakhmut; Ukraine thwarts bullet attack on Kyiv

The leader of Russia’s important greedy force in the Bakhmut region says an American has failed in the denuclearized Ukrainian megacity.

Yevgeny Prigozhin posted a videotape on Telegram showing the body and a print of a Pentagon identification card indicating the person is a formerU.S. Army Special Forces dogface from Boise, Idaho. Prigozhin said his platoon was preparing the remains for transfer to American authorities.

The State Department released a statement sayingU.S. officers were apprehensive of the reports and were seeking fresh information.

” Our capability to corroborate reports of deaths ofU.S. citizens in Ukraine is extremely limited,” the statement says.” We offer our condolences to the families of all whose lives have been lost as a result of Russia’s unprovoked and unjustified war against Ukraine.”

The statement also promptedU.S. citizens not to travel to Ukraine
